America Needs Farmers (ANF) is a program to recognize the importance of farmers in Iowa and across America. With roots in the Farm Crisis of the 1980s and Hayden Fry's legendary Iowa Hawkeye football teams, the ANF program has done truly incredible things for the state of Iowa.

However, times change. The role of farmers in today's America is different. Too many farmers rely on government subsidies to turn immense profits. Much of this corn is used to unnecessarily produce High Fructose Corn Syrup, with the average American consuming 37.5 lb of corn syrup annually as recently as 1999 (thankfully this amount has decreased but is still significant).

Yes, America still needs farmers. We will always need farmers. But what we need now is unsubsidized farmers. Please help educate the masses by wearing this shirt.
